Elisa-Marie Santobello-Fafalak

Elisa is a licensed medical speech-language pathologist (SLP) working in Westchester, New York. She is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT) and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP).

Early in her graduate school career, she developed a passion for neurogenic language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. She completed her clinical fellowship at skilled nursing facilities in The Bronx, NY and Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, NY.

After 6 years of working in both inpatient and outpatient speech-language pathology positions across 2 prestigious rehabilitation hospitals in Westchester County, Elisa noticed the distinct the lack of environmental modifications and caregiver training being provided to patients and families outside of the treatment room. After this realization, Elisa decided that cognitive care should expand beyond the treatment room and into the patient’s home environment to help maximize safety, function, and quality of life. With this thought, Caring Minds was born. Through Caring Minds, Elisa hopes to reach beyond the therapy room in order to bring supportive cognitive care into the homes of all patients, families, and caregivers who need it.
